Women Empowerment

Gender equality has gained recognition in the past decade as being essential to a country's social and economic progress as well as its overall health. One of the main focuses of the UNDP's Sustainable Development Goals is the advancement of gender equality and women's empowerment. It entails advocating for women's equal rights, opportunities, and resource accessibility so they can make their own decisions and take charge of their lives. Women who are empowered advance social justice, the economy, and sustainable development. They actively participate in leadership roles, healthcare, education, and decision-making processes. A more diverse and equitable society where women's voices are heard, their abilities are valued, and their potential is reached is fostered by women's empowerment. It is an essential first step toward creating a more just and peaceful world for everybody.

With interventions in nutrition, healthcare, and livelihood, the CAN Foundation's women empowerment program Swabhiman, which was launched in 2005, reaches out to marginalized and socially excluded women. Through creative community initiatives, the program empowers women to seek healthcare and effect long-lasting change in their communities, all the while assisting them in developing their awareness, skills, and financial independence. Additionally, Swabhiman actively promotes gender equality in society by getting boys and men involved in the process of empowering women.
