Focusing Area/Our Work

Health

With 140 billion people living in our nation, last-mile healthcare delivery has never been easy. Only about 25% of the healthcare infrastructure is accessible to the nearly 72% of the population that lives in rural areas. However, the majority of urban slum dwellers are a migrant population for whom health is the lowest priority and livelihood obstacles are overwhelming.

Primary healthcare services are delivered to underprivileged communities in rural and urban India through the comprehensive and community-centric health program of the CAN Foundation. With a two-pronged strategy, the program fills in the gaps in healthcare availability, accessibility, and affordability by offering both curative and preventive services.
